Nine Hours of Emergency Repair Late at Night, Elevators Back in Service, Praised by Residents

Release date:2026-02-02 20:37:05

On the night of March 25, 2026, two elevators in Building 8 of Binjiang Yihao Courtyard in Tongling were forced to shut down urgently after a fire hydrant accidentally flooded, causing water damage to the elevator control cabinets and short circuits. Upon receiving the alert, the property management and maintenance team immediately activated the emergency plan and carried out repairs overnight.

At 18:47 that evening, the monitoring center received an emergency call from residents. Patrol staff arrived at the scene within five minutes to close the valve, but water had already seeped into the elevator shaft. The maintenance team quickly disassembled, dried, and inspected the damaged circuit boards, while updating residents in real time via the community group to ease concerns. After nine hours of continuous work, both elevators fully resumed operation at 3:30 the next morning, without affecting residents’ morning rush hour travel.

“The elevators were fixed before dawn and didn’t delay our work at all!” said Mr. Li, a resident, expressing high recognition for the efficient response. This emergency repair demonstrated the practical effectiveness of the 24-hour emergency response system and provided valuable experience for elevator safety management in the community.
