Recently, 17 elevators in Lijiang Garden, Huajing Town, Xuhui District, had become a source of anxiety for residents due to cracked steel belts and frequent alarms. Under the leadership of the Party Committee of Longyin Area, the town urban construction center, neighborhood committee, property management, and maintenance company worked together to complete comprehensive repairs in nearly one month, completely eliminating potential safety hazards.
After the maintenance team entered the site, they inspected each elevator one by one, formulated a phased maintenance plan, and coordinated material supply and construction schedules. The neighborhood committee collected residents’ demands throughout the process and provided communication to minimize disruption to daily life. After maintenance, the elevators operated smoothly, and resident representatives specially presented a silk banner to the maintenance company in appreciation.
This renovation is a typical case of comprehensive elevator safety management in old residential areas. Through a model of “government leadership, multi-party coordination, and resident participation”, it effectively solved the problem of elevators operating with faults, providing replicable experience for similar communities across the city.
